February’s Gin Box

Beara Pink Ocean Gin

The first distillery in Europe to use salt water as a botanical, alongside sugar kelp taken from the sea.

Distilled on the edge of Ireland, in Castletownbere, at the end of the Beara Peninsula, West Cork. 43.3% ABV

This Month’s remarkable gin has come all the way from the edge of Ireland, Castletownbere on the Beara Peninsula.

With love in the air this month, we’re bringing flavours of the sea and the South West of Ireland to you. Beara Pink Ocean Gin is the only gin in Europe distilled using salt water distilled by two siblings – John and Eileen Power who wanted to make a gin that was reflective of where they were from, incorporating in some way a marine theme. They spent 2 years researching Botanicals and travelling to other gin producers all over the world. Bringing the sea into their gin using sea water was a lightbulb moment, and only one other distillery in Australia has attempted this. Of course there are many other botanicals.

Marry with plenty of ice, tonic and Butlers Pink truffle chocolates for the perfect aperitif. Enjoy your Gin Box, and please sign up if you do, subscriptions are flexible and you can pause at any stage.
