Dublin City Gin is a premium Irish handcrafted London dry style gin. Produced in small batches of only 600 numbered bottles, prepared by hand, which includes organic rhubarb grown along the Grand Canal in Dublin. Irish Milk Spirit provides the ideal base for the recipe and gives it a fine silky finish.

It has been acclaimed for quality and taste as an award-winning gin both at home and abroad with over 16 medals to its credit. This “Irish Gin with a Dublin Accent” was most recently awarded Gold super premium at the Global Gin Masters.

It is owned and operated by husband and wife team Jim and Sheila O’Connor. Jim looks after everything branding and bottling. Sheila is responsible for recipes and botanicals and their son is now getting involved in the sales side of the business as it has grown so well for them here and in export markets.

For all the Gin in Ireland we felt this one is emblematic of Dublin, and so this months box is completed with Jim’s favourite Gin Garnish, fresh ginger. We’ve included some treats in the form of Keoghs Crisps and some of the oldest Dublin Chocolate – Cadbury Bourneville to munch on while you prepare a Poachers and Dublin City Gin.

Poachers tonic is also Jim’s favourite tonic to use with his gin, citing a distinct flavour advantage because there is much less sugar in Poachers tonic water. We always ask for a distillers ‘perfect serve’ and Jims is simply with Fresh Ginger and Poachers Tonic Water. You might prefer to add a little lime in there too, but we think Grapefruit would be too sweet for this one.


Irish Milk Spirit, juniper berries, coriander seeds, grapefruit peel, and features the freshest of organic rhubarb that’s grown and harvested by Sheila on the banks of the Grand Canal in the allotments near Portabello.


A subtle gin, with broad palate appeal, robust in body, smooth and silky with zest of citrus, tart of Rhubarb and a wonderful warm, spicy finish. All in all, respectably unusual and simply delicious!


To a large glass add, plenty of ice. Slice Fresh ginger lengthways and sit atop the ice. Pour over Dublin City Gin and add to it a dash of Poachers Tonic water. This is Jims Perfect Serve!
